NEW SHOP

High-end quirky and bespoke homewares topped with stunning clothing. From today onwards locals can go wild at a new artsy shop on Macrossan Street; Bahnuk.
Jess Bannock, who likewise owns Platinum Property Services, is thrilled to welcome customers, and open the doors to her long-awaited dream.

“This shop will be like falling down a rabbit hole of magical décor and inspirational fashion. It’s an artsy, playful, luminous and fun space,” she told Newsport.
“People can treat themselves and purchase truly beautiful handmade creations, such as sequined turbans, hand-crafted Italian ceramics, umbrellas from Southern Milan, and Art Deco crystal from Copenhagen.
“It’s a store that offers the perfect gift, whether the occasion be a wedding, engagement or birthday. Bahnuk’s items carry a buy once, last a lifetime tradition, with cherished wares that can become heirlooms.
When asked how Ms Bannock selects her unique pieces, she said: “In all honesty, I trust my instincts.’
“I have an incredible couple in Melbourne as agents, who directed me toward unique and eye-catching products. Some, I found just by scrolling, and others simply showed up on my Facebook feed. Can’t beat those handy algorithms!”
Bahnuk is located at shop 7/42-44 Macrossan Street in Port Douglas. Today is the shop's soft opening for invite only with the official opening being on March 28.
