Continuing 90-year legacy; local accounting firm undergoes exciting rebranding

Get ready for exciting changes at the Douglas Shire’s longest operating accounting business. As of today, SiDCOR Port Douglas & Mossman will be rebranded and operate under the name of Williams Cete & Co.
The practice has been a part of the SIDCOR group for the last six years being a top 100 accounting firm in Australia and has been providing exceptional accounting and tax services to the Douglas Shire and surrounding areas for over 90 years.
Mitch Williams and Greg Cete, who acquired the practice from SiDCOR, have a long history of supporting the community and are proud to bring the ownership back locally.
They are excited to announce that their dedicated team of experienced staff will remain unchanged and they are actively seeking new talent to join their growing team.
“We both look forward to servicing the region for a long time and building on the legacy of previous partners,” Mr Williams said.
A rich history
The practice all started in 1933 with Mr William Reese who ran an accountancy practice in Mossman.
His practice and prosperity continued for more than four decades until he retired in 1974 when Mr Lex Cockrell joined the firm and took over the business to begin trading as Cockrell Reese.
The firm opened its Cairns office in the late 1970s and in 1985 it opened an office in Port Douglas to accommodate the rapid growth of the town.
Today, Williams Cete & Co continues to build on the legacy of both its founding partners, and previous partners including Margaret Everett and Kevin Roe, in providing high quality accounting and tax services built upon a foundation of genuine care for their clients.
