Teenager charged with attempted murder following horrific schoolyard stabbing

An 18-year-old student will face Cairns Magistrates Court today after being charged with attempted murder following an horrific alleged stabbing at Peace Lutheran College, Kamerunga.
Police said that around 10.25am yesterday morning an 18-year-old Caravonica man approached a female, also 18, who was sitting with friends during a school break “and allegedly stabbed her with a knife multiple times before being restrained by staff and other students”.
The 18-year-old woman remains in a critical condition following surgery at Cairns Hospital.
