A shocked Port Douglas mother has expressed her disappointment claiming a shuttle company failed in its duty of care having left her daughter stranded, without a ride, after midnight just days ago at Cairns airport.

The mother, who didn’t name the shuttle operator, claims the business sent her daughter a late-night email - which she didn’t receive until she disembarked her delayed aircraft upon arrival into Cairns - saying her impending onwards transfer to Douglas had been cancelled.

So, bleary eyed the concerned mother made the dash from Douglas to Cairns to retrieve her daughter – not before remaining extremely frustrated with the unnamed and unidentified shuttle operator.

“Seriously, is this acceptable, especially so late at night?,” the parent queried.

“Yes, I will be contacting the shuttle company to complain.

“These shuttle companies ask for your flight number so they know when a plane is delayed, through no fault of the traveller.”
