Mossman man books court appearance after flashing knife during alleged armed robbery
GROG THEFT

A Mossman man who threatened an employee with a knife before fleeing with a few cans of grog will face Cairns Magistrates Court today accused of an alleged armed robbery.
Police allege the 28 year-old man entered a Shields St business in Cairns around 3pm yesterday, nabbed some alcohol and tried to exit the property without paying for the items.
It’s alleged upon leaving an employee confronted the man, who then pulled a knife on him.
The employee was not injured in the encounter.
Police used City safe cameras to quickly locate the offender.
Police said he was taken into police custody a short time later allegedly still in possession of the knife.
His bail was refused.
