Fresh from saving stray dogs like Ocean, Jessie Goetze, a beloved member of the Douglas Shire, now takes on a new role as a local real estate agent, remaining committed to making a positive impact.

While Ocean is now enjoying a trial period with his loving forever family, it is safe to say that his rescue story touched many hearts, both locally and internationally.

However, Ms Goetze's commitment to the community extends far beyond rescuing stray and mistreated animals.

Ever since her relocation to Port Douglas 13 years ago, she has been actively engaged in various community initiatives, leaving a lasting impact on the local area.

Over the past five years, she has been an instrumental part of a devoted team working tirelessly to establish an Independent School.

“There is no such thing as having too many education options for our children and I will continue to support this initiative,” she said.

“I also advocate as a maternity consumer representative, striving to reopen local birthing services for our families, ensuring they can give birth closer to their support networks.”

A new chapter

Now, Ms Goetze is embarking on a new challenge as a real estate professional at Sotheby's Queensland.

“As a dedicated and driven woman with a genuine desire to assist others, I am eager to provide exceptional service throughout the buying and selling process,” she shared.

“As a mother, business owner, and active member of the community, I am deeply committed to ensuring that my clients feel confident and secure in their decision to buy or sell property.”

With an appreciation for the beauty, culture, and lifestyle of Port Douglas, she considers it her permanent home.

“The peaceful, healthy, and authentic nature of the community, along with its friendly, supportive, and inspiring individuals, solidifies my love for the area,” Ms Goetze said.

“We can’t see ourselves moving from Port Douglas - it absolutely feels like home.”
