The school holidays are about to kick off. But don’t panic! We’ve lined up the most fun-filled activities that will make this break one for the books.

Family fun with Aqua Zumba

Get your groove on and make a splash with Aqua Zumba.

This fun and low-impact dance class is for all ages, regardless of your dance skills. Get ready to have a blast with your entire family

Dive into the rhythm of latin, pop, and disco beats as you dance your way through a 45-minute session.

Kids can join in on the aquatic fun in the shallow part of the pool, which measures 1.2 metres in depth and there is a special pool step for the little ones to show off their moves.

Aqua Zumba takes place at Mossman Swimming Pool every Monday at 4.30pm. More info on Instagram: @mayrazumba2023.

Movies under the stars

Laying outside under the stars watching a movie on a rug by the ocean. If that doesn’t sound like the perfect school holiday plan, we don’t know what does.

On June 24, head to Mossman Showgrounds for an unforgettable cinematic experience.

From June 30 to July 16, Rex Smeal Park in Port Douglas will transform into a roaming cinema, complete with a 12-metre screen and 4K definition projection.

Plus, the proceeds from these screenings, organised by Starlight Movies, go to support the Kids' Cancer Council.

The movie nights will start with music and refreshments from 6.00pm and the main feature movie after sunset at 7.00pm.

Explore Aboriginal Culture

A tour with Walkabout Cultural Adventures is educational and fun at the same time.

Take your kids on a journey through the wonders of Kuku Yalanji country where they will learn about Aboriginal culture, explore significant sites, and gain valuable insights into the environment, bush foods, and traditional medicines.

Sample some seasonal bush tucker while appreciating the history, culture and traditions of our Australian Aboriginal people.

Go on a choco-licious adventure

The perfect way to satisfy your kid’s sweet tooth; a cocoa-filled adventure at the Australian Chocolate Farm in Shannonvale sampling all things chocolate.

Want to dig deeper into the chocolate-making process? Take a guided interactive tour through their Australian tropical cocoa plantation and discover the secrets of growing cocoa in the tropical north.

An educational and mouth watering experience all rolled into one.

Library fun

The Mossman Library has a spectacular lineup of activities for kids aged five and above.

Let their creativity bloom on June 27 with a Plantable Gift Tags workshop, where they can design unique tags using plantable paper.

On June 29, get ready for an interactive storytelling session by special guest Juan Walker as he shares tales from Kuku Yalanji country during Walkabout Adventures.

The fun continues with a Dino Romp on July 4, where your little ones can travel back in time and party with dinosaurs.

Then, on July 6, unleash the competitive spirit with a Board Game Mayhem extravaganza.
