Bail granted to 15-year-old girl accused in Smithfield Park stabbing incident
ALLEGED STABBING

A 15-year-old girl accused of being involved in a stabbing attack on two girls at a park in Smithfield has been granted bail, just a day after her arrest.
The teenager was arrested and charged on Tuesday in connection with the events that unfolded on Monday night, July 10.
During that time, two young females, aged 17 and 18, were walking their dog in a local dog park when they allegedly faced verbal abuse from a group of youths.
Feeling threatened, one of the victims immediately contacted a relative for assistance.
However, upon their arrival, the group reportedly continued to abuse and threaten the girls. A male relative attempted to intervene and was allegedly physically attacked by the group.
The two girls tried to help, but the situation quickly escalated, resulting in one victim being stabbed in the abdomen and the other sustaining a cut to the bicep.
The injuries sustained by both victims are reported to be non-life threatening.
On Tuesday police arrested a 15-year-old girl and she has been charged with one count each of grievous bodily harm, common assault, assault occasioning bodily harm and serious assault of a public officer.
