Two men remain on the run and a third was transported to hospital following an alleged assault and armed robbery at a Douglas Shire address a short time ago.

Police said two men allegedly attended a Whyanbeel road address around 9pm Friday night and proceeded to attempt to assault the home’s occupants, a 46 year old woman and a 21 year-old man.

Moments later the alleged offenders stole a car at the premise and fled the property, the vehicle was later located, abandoned, along Kingfisher Lane.

The two residents each gained minor injuries, however the 21 year-old man was later transported to hospital in a stable condition to treat a foot wound.

“Anyone who has any further information, CCTV footage or dashcam vision is encouraged to contact Crimestoppers or Mossman Police station,” local Officer in Charge and Sergeant Matthew Smith told Newsport.

“Investigations into this matter are ongoing.”
