Man deceased, woman in custody after alleged stabbing incident at Palm Cove
INCIDENT
A woman is in custody and will continue to assist Police after the death of a man in Palm Cove a short time ago.
Police were called to Williams Esplanade following reports of an alleged serious assault around 10.50pm last night, upon arrival an 80 year-old man was located with “several stab wounds”, to his abdomen, chest and back.
The patient was rushed to Cairns base hospital in a critical condition, however he later passed away from his injuries.
Police confirmed a 58-year-old woman was taken into custody at the scene.
Police said Investigations continue into the circumstances that led up to the incident.
