TOYAH CASE: Trial delayed until late February 2025
LATE ADJOURNMENT

The Supreme Court trial over the murder of Toyah Cordingley has been delayed until next year.
Rajwinder Singh, 40, who was extradited back to Australia from India in 2023, was due to stand trial charged with Ms Cordingley’s murder next week. Singh denies killing Ms Cordingley.
But Singh’s legal team applied for an adjournment just days before the start of the trial, saying there was a large amount of material from the police investigation they needed to go through, including many hours of recordings and evidence gathered from possible suspects, and expected further evidence to be disclosed.
The body of Ms Cordingley, 24, was found at Wangetti Beach in October 2018.
The trial was adjourned to late February next year, which will be two years after Singh was extradited, and is expected to take about five weeks.
