Police, ambulance and rescue crews have rushed to Mossman Gorge after a woman got in trouble in the water at the popular tourist attraction.

Multiple witnesses reported a host of emergency services rushing to the gorge within in the past hour.

Checks with rescue service reports can confirm one person was located on the left bank of the river and was "conscious and breathing".

Emergency services were called after a woman got swept away at about 2pm.

The swimmer was treated for minor injuries after spending a period of time underwater.
