A man has been arrested after two police officers were assaulted at a Mossman Gorge home yesterday evening.

Police were called after a 27-year-old Mossman Gorge man allegedly disobeyed a domestic violence order and would not leave the home at about 7.45pm on Tuesday, June 17.

When two police officers were arresting him he allegedly assaulted them, injuring one.

He was charged with the serious assault of police, the serious assault of police causing bodily harm, and contravening a domestic violence order.

He was refused bail and is set to appear in Cairns Magistrates Court today (Wednesday, June 18).
