A 31-year-old Bloomfield man has been arrested after parked cars at a Cooktown home were attacked with a tyre iron and a rock in the past fortnight.

At about 6.15pm on Monday, July 7, a man visited a Cooktown address and “caused a disturbance”, police allege.

A tyre iron was used to damage a vehicle parked at the home before the man left.

The man returned to the home at about 1pm on Tuesday, July 15, with a car parked at the address having its window smashed with a rock.

Police arrived a short time later, arrested a 31-year-old man out the front of the home and taking him to Cooktown Police Station.

He was charged with wilful damage and obstructing police, and is due to appear at the Cooktown Magistrates Court on Wednesday, August 6.
