CCTV footage of a man who may be able to help with investigations into an armed robbery in Cairns North on Wednesday, July 16, have been released by police.

At about 2.45am, a man entered a Sheridan Street service station and threatened an employee with a weapon, police said.

The man took food items before damaging a glass door and fleeing on foot.

No one was injured.

He is described as First Nations, about 175cm tall and wearing a black hoodie and black shorts.
