Overnight delays for Mossman-Mount Molloy Road next week

The Mossman-Mount Molloy Road is expected to be closed at night for 25-minute periods this Tuesday and Wednesday while essential works are carried out.
Similar closures were scheduled last Tuesday night (July 29), but the State Government Transport and Main Roads Department (TMR) pulled the pin on those works at the last minute, meaning road users only had to put up with usual 5-10 minute delays this week.
But TMR has assured drivers that extended delays during night works will now be required on Tuesday, August 5, and Wednesday, August 6.
“Road users can expect delays of up to 25 minutes at traffic control points from 8pm to 4am when the road reopens to single-lane traffic control,” a TMR release states.
“Intermittent road closures of 25 minutes are being implemented to balance road-user access while allowing works to be completed safely where the only other alternative for repairs would require the road to completely close overnight.”
TMR is asking drivers to plan around the night works and has made arrangements to provide access for emergency-service vehicles should the need arise.
