A 42-year-old man has been arrested following an assault in Mareeba in late June.
At about 12.45pm on Thursday, June 26, a 78-year-old Mareeba man was attacked and injured on Atherton Street.
He sustained lacerations to the face and lower body, but the offender ran away before police arrived.
Following investigations, a 42-year-old Mareeba man was arrested last Thursday, August 7, and charged with grievous bodily harm.
He is due to appear in Mareeba Magistrates Court on Wednesday, August 20.
