PICTURE GALLERY: Triumph on the catwalk as thousands raised for charity
Douglas fashion

More than $5000 has been raised for charity at Douglas Shire’s favourite recycled fashion catwalk parade.
The annual NikNak Shed Op Shop event at Pullman Sea Temple Resort raised close to $5300 for the Port Douglas Community Service Network.
Organiser Jo Westgate says she is going to have to come up with a big new idea next year to top that.
“It was the best one we’ve ever had,” Westgate says.
“The models were fabulous, the clothes were fabulous.”
The parade was helped out by the generous donation by an anonymous local of about 12 Camilla dresses which retail at about $1000 each, with all bidded on in a silent auction.
All the fashion was from the NikNak Shed, with other items sold to guests for discounted prices.
