Heavy rain overnight and this morning has affected several road crossings in Douglas Shire.

Noah Creek causeway near Cape Tribulation is shut for the day, meaning vehicles heavier than eight tonnes cannot get through to Cape Tribulation, Douglas Shire Council states.

“The water is roaring over Noah Creek causeway so it will not be open today as we hoped,” a statement reads.

“An assessment will be done mid-afternoon so the next update will be around 4pm today.

“Note all vehicles eight tonne and under can still travel through to Cape Tribulation.

“We had 250mm of rain overnight at Daintree Village, so take care on the roads if you are travelling.”

Anichs Bridge on Finlayvale Road near Silky Oaks Lodge is also underwater.
