WATCH THE VIDEO: Douglas students request high-level Canberra meeting with PM
Our schools
A group of Port Douglas students have been going to great lengths for a shot at meeting the Australian Prime Minister.
The Port Douglas State School Year-5 class, led by teacher Kelda Wray, has put countless hours into ventures such as producing a video to help raise funds - and PM Anthony Albanese’s attention - for a school camp in Canberra next year.
And the creative result is definitely worth a look.
The PDSS community has also been selling raffle tickets at the Mossman Bowls Club, the Tin Shed and outside of Port Douglas IGA to make sure the students can afford to make the trip, and also for a chance to say: “How do you do, Mr Albanese?”
The children are going with one of the stated aims of meeting the PM while they are there.
So, put the kettle on, Albo, a little piece of Port Douglas will likely soon be heading your way.
