Mossman State High School Year 8 student Luana Van Rhine has secured one of 200 Harding-Miller Scholarships to drive her studies forward as she progresses through school.

Nominated by Head of Department Senior School and Transitions Belinda Guthrie, Luana was awarded the scholarship in what was an incredibly competitive process with more than 600 applications received from girls across Australia.

The Harding-Miller Scholarships are available to Year 8 girls who have shown outstanding academic prowess and have overcome obstacles to achieve success in their studies.

Luana will receive a new high-quality laptop, a $650 pre-paid card to be used for educational expenses, study skills support through Advanced Learning, invitations to participate in enrichment activities to assist development of career ambitions and create pathways to university, 4G SIM and up to 20GB data per month and access to remote IT helpdesk support.

These packages are designed to provide students with practical support to boost their educational achievements and career aspirations.

The school acknowledged their great pride in Luana’s achievements.
