Douglas artist jets out with 'suitcase full of paintings' to exhibit
Port arts
Port Douglas artist Janet Morris is taking her work out to the world this weekend, joining in on an exhibition in Brisbane.
Morris has been invited to be a part of the Climate as a Dare exhibition, which is being led by environmental artist Jay Jackal.
“I’m supporting the artist with my contribution of showing how beautiful our environment is and how we need to preserve it and take care of it,” Morris says.
“They reached out to me back in June last year when they were doing another show because they like the Port Douglas connection.”
Morris says she is excited to be a part of the show, flying to Brisbane today “with a suitcase full of paintings” to be involved.
“It’s just given me such a buzz to really pump out some fantastic art for it and I’ve really enjoyed it.
“I really feel very motivated to keep showing how beautiful nature is and how we need to look after it.”
Climate as a Dare is on at the Echo and Bounce exhibition space, Woolloongabba, Saturday, December 13, from 4.30pm.
