Nick Malachi shows some of the cave paintings of Far North Queensland in one of his latest videos.

Port Douglas’s very own Indiana Jones-style adventurer has released all of his videos made across more than 20 years on YouTube.

Nick Malachi, who has been trying for more than two decades to fully unlock a mystery of Indigenous cave paintings of Spanish ships likely created many years before Captain James Cook “discovered” Australia, already has more than 1000 subscribers to his new online channel.

YouTube channel The Adventures of Nick Malachi features more than 100 videos covering topics of cave paintings found north of Cooktown, Spanish ships that have been documented sailing through Torres Strait since the early 1600s, searches for hidden treasures, and a host of other fantastical exploits.

Malachi told Newsport last week he is excited to finally post his video collection online.

“At a place called Combe Point, that’s the Man on the Wall, at Bathurst Head,” Malachi said.

“I started this quest that sent me off to pursue all this, just from a painting.”

The “Man on the Wall” reference alludes to one of the cave paintings, which shows a part-man, part-boat drawing discovered at a remote cave in the region.

Malachi has been battling to protect paintings such as that one because he says they may be under threat from mining operations in the region.

He has also been trying to work with various national television networks to help get the story out.

“I had 15 lawyers to go through this,” he says.

But Malachi has abandoned his legal fights to concentrate on carrying on his quests to unlock the secrets of Far North Queensland, sailing his yacht to a host of remote locations on his many adventures.
