Events designed purely for women don’t come around often, which is why the Galentine’s Sisters & Sparkles bash at Oaks Port Douglas Resort stands out on the local events calendar, putting friendship first and leaving romance at the door.
Set for Friday, 13 February, from 7pm to 10pm, the evening is all about celebrating friendship, offering a relaxed and feminine night out where women can simply enjoy being together.
With a welcome cocktail, roaming canapés and upbeat DJ tunes in a cool, air-conditioned setting, the event invites guests to dress up, let loose and soak up the festive atmosphere with their favourite people.
Events Manager Chloe Bamford said the event reflects a shared understanding of how important female friendships can be, something she strongly relates to personally.
“As a woman, I really wanted to create something just for the girls, a space that feels fun, welcoming and completely pressure-free,” Chloe said.
“Not everything has to be about romance. Friendship is just as important, and sometimes you need an event that celebrates that.”
Having celebrated Galentine’s Day with friends for years, Chloe said the concept has always resonated with her.
“I used to celebrate Galentine’s every year with my friends in Sydney. Life gets busy with work and relationships, so it’s nice to have a reason to slow down and just spend time together.”
She said the vibe of the night has been carefully considered.
“It’s very feminine, fun and welcoming, a safe, girly space where people can relax and enjoy themselves.
“Think cute, classy Valentine’s vibes, good music, cocktails and just spending quality time together. It’s a chance to dress up, let loose and celebrate the power of friendship.”
