If you are really looking to impress that special someone on Valentine’s Day this Saturday, Harrisons Restaurant at the Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort has just been awarded two hats in the prestigious national Australian Good Food Guide Restaurant Chef Hat Awards.

As the highest-placed restaurant in Tropical North Queensland, Harrisons was awarded a 14-out-of-20 score in the nationally renowned annual competition.

“Chill out in opulent surrounds of chandeliers, ornate mirrors and furniture, alongside monochromatic geometric carpet and potted palms, to survey a menu, bearing the flavour of the Tropics,” the AGFG review states.

“For a memorable main, anticipate plates like charcoal-grilled kangaroo, pumpkin, black garlic, kale and spiced seeds; or rib of beef with smoked mash, marrowbone and cheek and a gem salad.”

Harrisons owners Reina and Spencer Patrick said receiving two hats was a “real honour”.

“We’re genuinely grateful and incredibly proud,” they said.

“We’ve always wanted Harrisons to feel welcoming and special, a place where locals and visitors can celebrate life’s moments, big or small, and leave feeling looked after.

“This recognition belongs to our whole team.

“It’s a meaningful nod to the consistency, care and pride they bring to every service, and it reflects what we aim for every day, warm hospitality, beautiful food, and a dining experience that feels like a treat."
