The Savannah Sounds headline acts are (clockwise from top left) Sneaky Sound System, Jon Stevens, Vanessa Amorosi, Kingswood and Dragon.

The program has today been announced for Port Douglas’s very own music festival - Savannah Sounds.

Running from May 22-24, the Friday night DJ set is headlined by big-name Aussie outfit Sneaky Sound System, best known for hits such as UFO and I Love It.

The Saturday set will be led by Jon Stevens at 9.45pm, who will be playing a host of classic songs including those from his time at the helm of Noiseworks and INXS.

Playing before Stevens on Saturday will be other headline acts Vanessa Amorosi at 8pm and Kingswood at 6.15pm.

The Saturday program runs all day and also includes Taylor Sheridan, Carinda Christie, Austin Mackay and Sara Berki.

The Sunday program will be headlined by Aussie legends Dragon at 7.45pm, best known for classics such as April Sun in Cuba and Are You Old Enough.

Other Sunday acts from 1pm include The Joker Pokers, Pelicana, Hillbilly Goats and Whiskey.

Festival director James Dein said Savannah Sounds was shaping up as a fantastic weekend at Rex Smeal Park.

“Friday is a family-friendly night, with great music, food and one of the best spots in town to watch the fireworks over the water,” Dein said.

“Saturday is going to be huge with Jon Stevens, Vanessa Amorosi and Kingswood, while Sunday rounds out the weekend with Dragon bringing the hits.”

Savannah Sounds is part of the Port Douglas Carnivale, and Newsport is the major sponsor of the music festival.

The Carnivale fireworks display is on at 8pm on Friday night, while Kairos Kin will present another DJ set at 8.15pm.

Food trucks and a licensed bar will operate on site across all three days.

Tickets are on sale now at savannahsounds.com.au.
