A trio of Mareeba teenagers have been arrested following a break-in at a Mason Street property on Sunday, February 22.

Police allege a group of teenagers broke in and stole electronic devices and coins.

On February 23 and 24, three boys were arrested and stolen property was found by police. 

A 16-year-old Mareeba teenager was charged with entering a home and committing theft and receiving tainted property and is due to appear in court on Monday, March 16.

A 17-year-old Mareeba boy was charged with receiving tainted property and is due to appear in the Mareeba Children's Court today.

A 15-year-old Mareeba boy was charged with receiving tainted property and is due to appear in Mareeba Children’s Court on Monday, March 9. 

The arrests came following the forming of a new Tablelands Property Crime Unit.

Detective Inspector Jason Chetham said, while its early days, the results are promising.

“These officers have hit the ground running and are using their local knowledge to prevent and disrupt offending across the region,” Detective Inspector Chetham said.

“Having a dedicated Property Crime Unit on the Tablelands allows us to consolidate information about property offenders.”
