Savannah Sounds headline act Jon Stevens says he is ready to bring “hit after hit after hit” to Port Douglas this Saturday night as part of Carnivale 2026.

Speaking to Newsport in the lead-up to the much-loved Far North Queensland festival, Stevens says he is looking forward to returning to a region he has been to many times before and loves after recently braving the southern winter-like weather.

“Having a swim would be nice,” Stevens says.

“I’m coming in a day early just to chill out.”

He says he is looking forward to bringing some of his rock ‘n’ roll to the town with his show, which is packed with Noiseworks and INXS hits.

“It’s an absolute treat to play all those songs,” Stevens says.

“They’ll be able to hear us in Cairns I reckon.”

Savannah Sounds is a three-day festival at Rex Smeal Park on the Port Douglas waterfront featuring some of Australia’s biggest names including Sneaky Sound System, Vanessa Amorosi, Kingswood and Dragon.

The event kicks off this Friday evening and runs through to Sunday night.

Newsport is a major sponsor of the event.
