Yeehaw!
It has been a lot of work bringing it all together, but the organisers of the Mossman school country fair are excited the day is nearly here when children and parents alike can celebrate in style this Saturday.
Mossman State School organising committee member Karly Scomazzon says there will be something for everyone at the Country Fair at the school from 2-9pm.
“There’s going to be pickle-eating competitions, corn-eating competitions, wheelbarrow races, a rooster-crowing competition, live music from 5pm, bar from 3pm, there’s going to be lots of great food vans, farm animals, pony rides, massive inflatable obstacle course and showbags,” Karly says.
“We’re excited for it, but I’ll be glad when it’s done.”
She says the preparations have taken a lot of effort, but hopefully it will all be worth it when the community comes together on the weekend.
“It’s been a lot of work, nearly there.”
The good news is, the event rotates between schools in the district, so Mossman school volunteers will have a few more years until they have to organise their next one.
