Night works at multiple locations along the Captain Cook Highway are set to take place from Monday, July 20, up until mid September.

The State Government Transport and Main Roads Department (TMR) needs to carry out “pavement rehabilitation and asphalt” works along the key arterial road near Turtle Cove Resort, Pretty Beach, Van Tongeren Beach, between Buchans Point and Ellis Beach, north of Simpson Point and between Johnston Road and Mill Street in Mossman.

“To reduce the impact on road users, works will be carried out at night from 6pm to 6am, Monday to Saturday, until mid-September 2026, subject to weather and site conditions,” a TMR statement reads.

The sites will be subject to traffic controllers, temporary traffic lights, speed-limit reductions, single-lane closures and further delays.

Nearby properties may experience noise associated with the works, including the sound of trucks and light machinery.
