New logo unveiled for 150th year of council in 2027
Design competition
A new logo capturing the natural beauty of the Douglas Shire has been unveiled ahead of the council’s 150-year commemoration.
Created by Bamboo designer Lisa Previte, the winning entry was selected from a strong field in the Douglas Shire Council competition.
Previte said she was honoured to have her design chosen.
"The inspiration came from the incredible natural environment we are surrounded by every day," she said.
"We've got the reef, the beaches, coastline, gorges and creeks.
“Nature has such a strong influence on our lifestyle and the beauty of living in Douglas.
"I think it's important to commemorate our history, reflect on our past, appreciate where we are today and look ahead with optimism for the future."
The Douglas 150 logo will feature prominently in promotional material, events and activities throughout the year, as well as on a range of commemorative merchandise.
