Sea Circus juggling some fresh new ideas for show launch

An ever-growing Sea Circus cast will this month unveil a brand new show at a brand new location for their yearly Halloween extravaganza.
The third in the local troupe’s Tide of Terror Halloween series, Myths and Monsters promises “new ideas, new storylines, new costumes and more experiences” at a fresh venue - the Port Douglas Sailing Club at Four Mile Beach, according to organiser Vanessa Carey.
“Expect a lot of really good group acts, very creative stuff, collaboration, poetry, theatrics, fire dancing, aerial acrobatics, stiltwalking, LEDs, singing,” Carey says.
“Plenty of new cast members, the circus is growing.”
“We’ve got Keep on Dancing involved, playing live entertainment, members from the Clink (Theatre), so every year it just grows and then we’re just getting other members from the community.
“They come to us, more or less, we mention Sea Circus, and people go ‘Ooo, what's that’, and then they can be a part of it in a small way, and then it can be bigger.”
About 25 cast and crew are involved in this show at the sailing club - which is not to be confused with the surf club or yacht club just down the road.
There will also be a food truck, a mini haunted-house walk-through area, facepainting, a photo booth and prizes for the best dressed.
Myths and Monsters by Sea Circus is on Friday, October 16, and Saturday, October 17, at Port Douglas Sailing Club on Solander Boulevard. Doors open 5pm for a 6.30pm show.
