Today, locals might be surprised by just how much more is on offer; from home gardening gear, large and small animal supplies and specialised fencing to custom shed design.

While continuing to support commercial growers as they branch out into new ventures, the team is opening its doors wider to ensure there is something for every backyard across the Douglas Shire.

Walk through the front doors and you'll find shelves filled with home gardening supplies, specialised vegetable seeds, organic fertilisers, and pet care essentials. They’ve even become the region's go-to supplier for chicken and poultry feed.

General Manager Matt Eastham says the store's focus is on serving both long-time agricultural clients, animal lovers and home gardeners.

“We’re still here to support local farmers as they diversify, but we also carry a full range of gear for agricultural enthusiasts,” Matt explains.

“As a major sponsor and supporter of Mental Health and Wellbeing, we provide the social infrastructure for people to come in, have a chat and tell their story.

“We focus on specialised, bulk products you won't find at standard stores, but carry  everything from niche vegetable seeds to pallet loads of potting mix.

“For certain pet supplies and products like CANNA and Organic Life fertiliser pellets, we’re the only stockist in town.”

At the same time, as the broader agricultural landscape diversifies, local growers are experimenting with exciting new ventures; from beef, sorghum, peanuts, and passionfruit to soy, bana grass, coffee, and cocoa. 

The store has adapted right alongside them, stocking everything from pig-proof fencing and fruit trellises to pasture seeds and custom electric fence setups.

Through all this growth, the store’s signature customer-first attitude hasn't changed a bit. 

The team of six is made up of familiar local faces, including long-time specialists like Mick.
