4. Cluster Ball Games Interschool Ball Games

Last Friday Miallo State School hosted the annual Cluster Ball Games event. Students from Alexandra Bay, Wonga Beach, Daintree, Miallo, Julatten, Mossman and Port Douglas State Schools attended for a fun day of friendly competition.

After a warm up and war cries to get everyone in the mood, Infant, Junior and Senior teams battled it out in the classic favourites of Tunnel Ball, Leader Ball and Corner Spry with the addition of two new ball games this year: In and Out File and Star Wars!

Congratulations to all students for their fantastic participation and sportsmanship.

Results were:
Infant Ball Games: Wonga Beach 1st, Port Douglas/Miallo 2nd, Alexandra Bay 3rd
Juniors Ball Games: Port Douglas 1st, Miallo 2nd, Wonga Beach 3rd
Senior Ball Games: Miallo 1st, Mossman 2nd, Port Douglas 3rd

Overall Winner: Miallo State School
Aggregate Winner: Alexandra Bay State School

Athletes under 10y receive Participation Medals, with Ailbe Hamilton showing strong performances in Long Jump and Discus, and Zaylan Wild in 60m Hurdles, Long Jump and 145m,
Douglas Athletics had 6 athletes at Barlow Park for a two day Athletics Competition hosted by Cairns Athletics. In addition to smashing PBs and having fun, they had the chance to meet and watch members of the Olympic team heading over to Tokyo.
