PORT Douglas has signed former Sydney Swans midfielder Brett Meredith in a huge coup for the reigning premier.

Meredith played 16 games for the Swans after being drafted with pick 26 at the 2007 AFL National Draft. He will relocate to Port Douglas after playing with Goulburn Valley club Seymour last year.

The Crocs have also added South Queensland representative Christopher Taylor to help offset the loss of Mathew Medcraft and Kurt Bradshaw over summer.

The club is attempting its third straight flag this season under coach Brad Cooper and will kick off its campaign on Good Friday against South Cairns.

More to come.
