EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: I'VE DONE IT! - 8000km, four months at sea, American's sheer joy after completing epic mission from Hawaii
WELCOME TEZ!
An American businessman with nothing more than a dream, unbreakable resilence and a hell of a lot of mental strength has arrived in Port Douglas after completing an epic mission most of us could only dream of - rowing solo, unassisted, all the way from Hawaii.
As Newsport first revealed last week Tez Steinberg undertook the four month, 8000km mission simply to raise awareness about ocean preservation and conservation.
Looking rightfully dishevelled, windblown, tanned and much thinner than when he departed Oahu just before Christmas last year Tez pulled into the Port Douglas Sugar Wharf just minutes ago at around 5.54pm.
The supremely fit athlete battled broken oars, sore shoulders, dangerous seas and loneliness during the mission.
Newsport's Paul Makin was on the spot to welcome Tez into Port Douglas.
Welcome to the beautiful Far North Tez, congrats on an unbelievable achievement!
