Lucky escape after boat catches fire in Port Douglas

Occupants of a boat docked in the Dickson Inlet in Port Douglas have had a lucky escape after the vessel caught on fire this morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene near Spinnaker Close at around 10.45am.

A police spokesperson said the occupants of the boat have been rescued without any major injury.

A Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) spokesperson confirmed two patients were assessed for burns.

"Two patients have been transported to Mossman Hospital in stable conditions with minor burns following an earlier boat fire at Port Douglas," the QAS spokesperson said.

Police say this is an evolving incident and investigations are ongoing
