Mossman District Show Society president Mathew Hatfield has thanked the volunteers and committee members for their proficient efforts in running a successful show at the latest annual meeting.

He also acknowledged the Douglas Shire Council for their ongoing support and effort, and the corporate sponsors whose contributions help make possible popular entertainment and exhibits.

Mr Hatfield said his objective as President is to put on a country show run and supported by locals, for locals and visitors to enjoy. He believed 2022 was a good example of this.

Planning for the 2023 show has already started with some exciting and new entertainment options being investigated.

This year has seen the passing of two former show society presidents.

Alec Ford and Peter Hancock were long serving committee members, and both did a number of years at the helm.

Their contributions were considerable and their legacies continue in the courteous and organised manner of the show society and the show. Vale Alec and Peter.

Mr. Hatfield did express some concern over volunteer numbers and would like to appeal to anyone with a bit of time on their hands who would like to assist at show time or prior, to get in touch with the Secretary at [email protected] or 07 4098 1477.
