A LOCAL based company with a reputation for delivering excellence in transport services has committed to increase its output from Cairns airport to Port Douglas.

Just hours after a local resident separately campaigned for regular public transport services between Port Douglas and Cairns Exemplar coaches and limousines declared it intends to increase services from the local airport hub.

“There will also be more scheduled transfer services to Port Douglas and Palm Cove, with shorter waiting times between aircraft arrival and coach departures,” Cairns Airport Chief Executive Officer Richard Barker revealed during a number of announcements about Exemplar’s future services.

Mr Barker’s comments come following a deal for the Port Douglas based company to also offer a Cairns ‘airporter shuttle service'.

“One of the key features of this new agreement is a scheduled city transfer service, which will offer regular coach options between the airport and Cairns CBD from morning to night,” he said.

Exemplar also revealed its plans to offer enhanced private and silver service limousine transfers.

“We are very excited to be expanding our business and look forward to offering even better service to our existing and new travellers,” Director of Exemplar Coaches and Limousines Gordon Wellham said.

“We recognise that Tropical North Queensland is operating at record levels with airport arrivals also very strong.

“We want to meet that demand and with our fleet and product expansion we absolutely believe that visitors to Tropical North Queensland will have a world class welcome and departure.”
