Man sustains back injuries after tumbling over second storey balcony in Port Douglas

A man in his 50s continues to be treated for back injuries after falling from a second floor balcony at a private residence in Port Douglas around 8.05pm last night.

The man was later airlifted and transported to Cairns Hospital in a stable condition for further care and assessment.

Newsport has reached out to Cairns hospital for further comment about his current injuries.

Meantime, Police continue to investigate the circumstances that led to three people in their 20s sustaining injuries following a buggy rollover near Miallo in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The trio were travelling along Mossman Daintree road when the incident happened around 12.19am.

A female with facial injuries, a second person with shoulder injuries and a male in with minor injuries were all taken to Mossman Hospital in a stable condition following the incident.

A CHHHS spokesperson told Newsport "the 58 year-old male patient remains in a serious, but stable condition in Cairns hospital following the incident".
