Police will prepare a report for the coroner after the death of a 26-year-old Israeli tourist at a popular Far North waterfall yesterday.

It's understood the visitor was climbing rocks at the location before he slipped and fell into the water at Isabella Falls, Edmonton, South Cairns, around 3.30pm.

Cairns had experienced heavy rain the past few days and the conditions were thought to be extremely slippery at that specific waterfall location.

Police said emergency services conducted CPR but the man could not be revived.

Police are treating the death as non suspicious.

The heartbreaking outcome is the third such death at Isabella Falls following similar incidents in 2022 and 2023.
