Following a turbulent Easter weekend with a lot of rain around the past week or so has opened a pandora's box with a lot of post Easter bunny fishing delights to be enjoyed.

Accompanied by some great weather we have seen great results around the Douglas Shire. The Daintree River is still producing its best in years for the iconic barramundi along with a healthy run of Fingermark.

Around Port Douglas, the Dickson Inlet has seen a big run of Mangrove Jack like never seen before with Barramundi the next in line.

However, the Barra are more so caught under the cover of darkness. The turn of the tide is paramount for the best activity for the bigger predators.

On the outer reef it's been a bundle of fun with a lot of Coral Trout and Nannygai to be enjoyed on the plate.

For some serious sporting action the Trevally schools below are also stretching arms and no easy feat to deal with when they are sourced.

Spanish Mackerel and Tuna schools on the surface are prolific where the bait schools are gathering on top of deep pinnacles and bommies.

We are due to receive a bit of wind for a few days coming up but on the back side of this it will be all cylinders firing.
