The latest issue of Port Douglas Magazine has hit the stands just in time for the school holidays and peak visitor season, showcasing the sights, stories, and personalities that make the Douglas Shire one of Queensland’s most sought-after destinations.

Local stallholders at the Marina Market were among the first to spot themselves in print, and they say the exposure is already paying off.

Mel from Pelé Jewellery said the feature is drawing new faces to the markets already. “I’ve had a couple of people come down because they read about it in the magazine at the Sheraton,” she said.

Fellow stallholder Pip, owner of Creations by Pip, said she was thrilled with the feature.

“I just think it's come down really well, and it’s great exposure for the marina markets,” she said

Seeing herself in print has also been a fun experience. “Everyone’s like, ‘Hey, how are you in the magazine!’”

Over at the Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre, local tour guide Angelina has been feeling love from the community and beyond on our recent feature 'Meet the guides' .

The new edition, now available in every hotel room, is already attracting the attention of tourists eager to explore the region.

Rob and Christina Frank from Sydney, visiting Port Douglas for the third time, discovered a copy at the marina, one of the six high volume local distribution points around the region.

“I saw the cover and thought I’d grab one and see what’s inside,” Rob said. “I haven’t read it through yet but just with a quick look, it seems really well put together and full of valuable information.”

Christina agreed: “I only just flicked through it, but it definitely caught my attention. It looks like a great way to get a feel for the area and discover things we might have missed before.”

As the holiday crowds continue to arrive, the magazine is expected to be a popular companion for exploring everything the region has to offer.

The new edition shines a spotlight on a “golden era” for Port Douglas, with features on romance and destination weddings, ocean-to-plate dining, local talent, cultural celebrations, and unforgettable journeys through the Daintree and beyond.

It’s packed with insider tips, new flavours, and unique experiences that cement Port Douglas as a world-class destination.
