Get ready to celebrate Melbourne Cup Day in style at Zinc Restaurant Port Douglas, where racing fans can enjoy all the flair of Flemington and a focus on premium champagne, wines, and cocktails.
In partnership with Taittinger and a selection of local and international winemakers, Zinc is hosting a lavish Cup Day lunch full of gourmet food, drinks, and festive fun.
The menu features a delectable mix of antipasto grazing boards, wagyu beef, line-caught mackerel, vegetarian paella, Peruvian-style chicken, and finishes with coconut and Malibu pannacotta for dessert.
Chris Bower, owner of Zinc Restaurant, said the Melbourne Cup menu was designed to bring people together over food, flavour, and fun.
“Our Melbourne Cup menu is designed to bring people together. A perfect blend of beautifully plated dishes and generous shared platters, it celebrates the joy of communal dining, because great food is even better when shared,” he said.
“We kick things off in style with a sparkling glass of French champagne and abundant antipasto grazing boards to set the mood.
“From there, our entrées showcase the flair and creativity of our chefs, leading into a lively, interactive banquet course that’s all about connection and fun.
“As the day winds down, our garden bar, proudly sponsored by Devil’s Thumb Distillery, becomes the place to be.
“With handcrafted cocktails from our talented mixologists, it’s the perfect way to toast the moment and finish on a high note.”
Zinc will also feature live entertainment by Danny Bani from The Nightshift, keeping the energy high throughout the afternoon.
“By the time lunch wraps up, you can expect the dance floor to be alive with energy,” Chris added.
For racing enthusiasts, all races will be broadcast live from 10.30am, with sweeps opening from Race 4, building anticipation ahead of the Melbourne Cup.
The event will be MCed by Dave Cameron, CEO of Survivor Golf Australia, who will run sweeps, table games, and giveaways throughout the day.
Meaningful charity
This year, Beyond Blue has been chosen as the event’s charity, with donations welcomed via QR code on the day.
