Douglas Shire adventure lovers have less than two months to pay one final visit to an iconic attraction that's entertained thousands of local children and others alike for many years in the Far North.

After almost two decades of providing remarkable wildlife encounters and thrilling adventure experiences, Cairns ZOOM & Wildlife Dome situated at The Reef Hotel Casino has confirmed it will close the doors for good from Sunday, October 8.

Cairns ZOOM & Wildlife Dome cited the effects of the elements over the years and the importance of infrastructure upkeep as key reasons behind the closure.

CaPTA systems and projects director Michael Woodward said the entire CaPTA family were saddened by the closure but understood the need for the essential maintenance.

The CaPTA Group remains committed to its mission of wildlife education, conservation, and delivering unforgettable experiences for visitors of all ages in Cairns, Port Douglas and other locations across the Far North.
