HUNT CONTINUES: Whyanbeel pair still on run after alleged armed robbery, assault offences on Friday 13th
POLICE MATTERS

Two men who committed alleged armed robbery and assault offences at a Douglas Shire home a number of weeks’ ago remain on the run.
Police told Newsport the pair attended a Whyanbeel road address on Friday, October 13 at around 9pm and proceeded to attempt to assault the home’s occupants, a 46 year old woman and a 21 year-old man.
As a result the two residents each suffered minor injuries, with the 21 year-old man later needing further treatment at Mossman Hospital for a foot wound.
The duo then allegedly stole a car at the premise before it was later found abandoned near Kingfisher Lane.
“We continue to work several lines of enquiry and at this time investigations are continuing into this matter,” a Queensland Police spokesperson confirmed with Newsport.
Hours after the October 13 incident a local law enforcement official encouraged Douglas Shire residents to assist where possible.
“Anyone who has any further information, CCTV footage or dashcam vision is encouraged to contact Crimestoppers or Mossman Police station,” local Officer in Charge and Sergeant Matthew Smith reminded Newsport readers at the time.
Police are yet to reveal public descriptions of the potential offenders.
