RUGBY UNION
The Port Douglas Reef Raiders will officially launch their 2026 campaign this Saturday, hosting the Northern Beaches Mudcrabs at the Port Douglas Sports Complex in a special ANZAC Day clash.
After a first-round bye, the Raiders head into their season opener looking to make a statement in front of a home crowd at Raider Park. Their opponents, the Mudcrabs, come into the match after a strong 36–17 win over the Southside Crusaders in Round 1.
Newly appointed captain Luke Edwards will lead the Reef Raiders into the new season, while head coach Richard Johnston also returns for his third year in charge.
As in previous years, the Raiders squad will feature a mix of local talent and players from all around the world.
Rugby fans will be treated to a full afternoon of action, with the Reserve Grade match kicking off at 2:30pm as the Tablelands Reds take on the Penrhyn Sharks, before the main game gets underway at 4pm.
