The Sharks went down to the Kangaroos 22-40 at home in Mossman on Saturday evening in Far North Queensland Rugby League action, scoring four tries to eight.

Jarvis Connolly, Robert Garrett and Stan Banu all got on the scoreboard, while Kieshon Hunter-Flanders kicked three conversions.

Hunter-Flanders has also been selected in the FNQRL Foley Shield squad to play at the Foley Shield Carnival from May 2-4 at Stan Williams Park in Cairns for a chance to make the Queensland Country team.

The Sharks are home to Atherton Roosters this Saturday from 6pm.

The women lost to the Kangaroos 4-44 on the weekend, and play the Roosters at home from 1.30pm on Saturday.

Soccer

Douglas United had a bye on the weekend, but will face Southside Comets at home at Cassowary Park this Friday night at 8.30pm.

The evening will kick off with the reserves up against the Comets at 6.30pm.

Netball

The Port Douglas netball season starts next Tuesday (April 21) evening from 6pm at the Port Douglas Sports Complex courts behind the football clubrooms.

AFL Cairns

The Port Douglas Crocs are away this weekend against the Lions at Holloways Beach from 2.30pm.

The day starts out with the Crocs women's team up against the Lions from 10.45am.
