It's $16 return for the Burnspoint ferry in West Ballina. Same distance and its actually an ex-Daintree ferry.

Gabby Ritter

Would be interesting to know how much the council gets per year to lease it to Entrada?

Dan Hammersley

It’s already way overpriced, as a Cairns local with friends over the river, yea I can access passes, but the price is affecting tourism up there and I won't take people up there at that price.

Bruce Neighbour

It’s all about the push for 15-minute cities. They are currently working on pricing out fuel so no one can afford to go far, this is just another tactic, and they’ll get rich whilst doing it.

Craig Stevens

Should be run by main roads and free like elsewhere in the country Instead of a cash cow run by muppets.

Pete Mills

Just build a bridge, cheaper to build now than in 10 years time. Ferry is slow, expensive, and hassle for people who just want to go shopping or come back late as it shuts at midnight. And the price is ridiculous $51 for return?

Sara Reid

This ferry is a joke. There is a line up, wait, restricted time to access, its costly and inaccessible at times... build a bridge if you want tourism and accessibility for locals. The ongoing saga surrounding this expensive dysfunctional backwards logic to keep the ferry, is stupidity at its finest.

Darryn Slade

My understanding that this is nearly double the price for a load of rubbish to the tip with a trailer ($16 current vs. $30 new)? Small load is currently $10.50. The new price of $12.50 is roughly a 20% increase.

That’s part of life in ocean and inlet tidal sand and silt movement.

Michael Santarossa

Hey council look a dredge coming you going to send it over to Mossman river mouth?

Bevan Bobbermein

It will only fill up again with sediment so will have to be dredged over and over again.

Jo Black

At the very least mow the lawns.

Charlie Raymond

Would be wonderful if the owners spent some much-needed money on the place before it is too far gone.

Looks like someone made the most of the wet season and had some fun. Sorry Karens' ovaries were stepped on in the making of this post. Getalifeincorporated

Sad to see we don't need these people living here, people come here for our beautiful town. I see they did it on the way to town on the roundabout also last week.

Joombi O’Flaherty

Just a few youngsters letting off a bit of steam - no harm done.

Russell Cook

The lawns of the shire have been looking sooooo lush lately too.

Bill Cameron

Bloody fleabags!! They wouldn’t have half a brain between the lot of them.

Michelle Xeureb

What is wrong with people? Where’s the respect these days?? Go and plough up a paddock if you want to have some fun!
