Mossman's own musical-theatre star cracks the big time

Mossman musical-theatre performer Angela Brischetto has made her debut in Six the Musical in Melbourne at the age of 20.
The former Bodies in Motion Dance School performer plays one of the six wives of King Henry VIII in the blockbuster show, the youngest of the leads.
BIM principal Saskia Turner says watching Brischetto’s journey unfold has been incredibly rewarding since she started out at the dance school at age four.
“Seeing Angela perform professionally is something the entire dance school is immensely proud of,” Turner said.
"She has always been an exceptionally dedicated, humble and hardworking performer.
“To see her representing our small community on such a significant national stage is truly inspiring."
From her first dance classes, her passion, dedication and natural talent were impossible to miss, Turner says.
Across the next decade, she trained hard on her technique, performance skills and work ethic with the aim of moving on to a professional career.
She studied voice with Yasmin Croghan and Altouise DeVaughn, while also performing in Douglas Theatre Arts Group productions of Annie and The Sound of Music at The Clink Theatre.
At age 14, Brischetto moved to the Gold Coast to pursue her dream, enrolling at Dynamite Studios Performing Arts High School.
She made her professional musical-theatre debut as Urleen in Footloose The Musical At 18, touring the country and performing to sold-out audiences.
She then joined the ensemble cast of Beauty and the Beast The Musical for the Perth and Singapore seasons before winning a Six lead role.
